During latest Paris Fashion Week SS16 the Ann Demeulemeester brand launched a collaboration with Belgian lingerie brand la fille d’O. After earlier combined efforts, which resulted in a line of men’s underwear, the second collaboration between creative director Sebastien Meunier and lingerie designer Murielle Victorine Scherre consisted of a line of women’s lingerie.
Inspired by Helmut Newton’s Polaroid photographs they created a sleek, minimalistic ode to the female body. Gifted with an eye for articulate and elegant design, Sebastien Meunier devotes himself to take the Ann Demeulemeester woman into a new era of empowerment. An era in which she embraces her feminine grace whilst maintaining her signature androgynous power.
Craftsmanship and heritage inspire Murielle Victorine Scherre and her team to create innovative designs satisfying the demands of women today. Therefore, la fille d’O was the perfect choice to create a blank canvas for Sebastien Meuniers’ creations, which required both a bold and iconoclastic approach. The result is a line of fashion foundations, carefully pushing the boundaries between lingerie and ready-to-wear.
La fille d’O dreamed up bras, leggings and full bodysuits with striking front and back seams. Each creation is a reminiscent of Newton’s love for nylon stockings, delicately erasing all excess seams along the line.
